SEDALIA, MO. (AP) -- Missouri State Fair officials expect attendance at this year's fair will about equal to last year.
Officials said Thursday that attendance figures for this year's fair so far exceed 300,000. They expect that to increase with more information from advance ticket sales. Last year, about 337,000 attended the fair.
The Sedalia Democrat reported Wednesday that Fair Director Mark Wolfe said weather was a challenge this year. Wolfe says high temperatures during the first days and severe weather later could have affected attendance.
The Missouri State Fair in Sedalia started Aug. 12 and ended Sunday.
