SEDALIA, MO. (AP) -- Missouri's leading U.S. Senate candidates will be courting voters under a big-top tent for a ham breakfast at the Missouri State Fair.
Republican Congressman Roy Blunt and Democratic Secretary of State Robin Carnahan both planned to attend Thursday's State Fair buffet, which typically draws hundreds of potential voters.
The annual event has become a staple for politicians, especially in election years.
It's hosted each year by the governor. This year, Gov. Jay Nixon also plans to highlight the efforts of a law enforcement task force created to catch agricultural thieves.
