KIRKSVILLE, MO --
Some viewers called us recently with questions about who provides the lawn care service for Kirksville public schools.
Our Fact Finder Team contacted Superintendent Pat Williams to get your questions answered.
One viewer wanted to know why the school district is paying a private company to handle the mowing responsibilities instead of having school maintenance staff take care of it as it has in the past.
Williams told Fact Finder the district eliminated two maintenance staff positions in order to save money in the budget.
Those cuts have made it more cost effective to have an outside company do the work. The district hired Snyder's New Lawn Service to handle the mowing.
