KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- Illegal immigration has been a hot topic lately, especially after Arizona enforced its own controversial law on the matter.

Some politicians have recently discussed changing the U.S. Constitution, specifically repealing the 14th amendment.

The amendment states any person born in the United States is guaranteed a citizen.

We asked Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer his views on the issue.

“It's a first step in trying to solve some of our illegal immigration problems, whether it's the solution, no.  I don't think so but it's something I think we need to take a look at because I think this is a multi faceted problem,” said Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer.

Luetkemeyer says the issue must be approached from all different sides.

He says that may include building a border fence, enforcing the law, and looking at the 14-th amendment.

He says until there's more political will in DC, the problem won't be solved.
