KIRKSVILLE, MO --
A new group is calling all stay at home moms! The MOMS Club is an international nonprofit organization created to support at-home moms.
A new chapter in Kirksville is just getting started and plans to hold weekly events during the day for moms and their children.
“I think it’s important to have a MOMS Club because we stay at home and we don’t get to meet people out in the community very often and when we do we’ve got our kids and it’s hard to talk to other stay at home moms,” said Kirksville MOMS Club Chapter Founder Melissa Valtos.
MOMS stands for 'Moms Offering Moms Support' and Valtos says not only will the group offer support but members will gain friendships as well. In addition to weekly events, a monthly moms night out will also be offered.
The first meeting for the MOMS Club is planned for Tuesday August 3rd at Brashear Park from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. A membership will cost $20 a year and covers the cost of supplies for some activities.
