ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Four men from northeast Missouri have admitted to violations of federal wildlife laws, including shooting a bald eagle and a great horned owl.
Federal prosecutors said Friday that 55-year-old Douglas Byrn of Memphis, Mo., and his 19-year-old son, Logan Byrn of Downing, Mo., along with 19-year-old Jerad Fuller of Memphis, pleaded guilty to wildlife law violations. Fuller's father, 49-year-old James Fuller of Memphis, pleaded guilty to one count of intending to influence a witness.
All four pleaded guilty Thursday in federal court in St. Louis. Sentencing will be in October.
Federal prosecutors say Douglas Byrn trapped and Logan Byrn shot a great horned owl, Douglas Byrn trapped a yellow shafted flicker, and Logan Byrn assisted Jerad Fuller in shooting and killing a bald eagle.
