Our Fact Finder team has learned Missouri shoppers are paying a little more at the grocery store.

According to the Missouri Farm Bureau's market basket survey, food prices rose slightly in the second quarter of the year, up 29 cents.

The survey prices 16 standard food items at stores across the state.

Fact Finder discovered ground chuck, sirloin tip roast, chicken breasts and russet potatoes were some of the items on the shopping list that went up this quarter.

The price of several others went down, including bread, flour, eggs and whole milk.

And though shoppers may have had to shell out a little more this quarter, Missouri’s prices are still much than all the other states reporting for the survey.

Missouri consumers paid $3.50 less for the same 16 items than shoppers nationwide.
