OTTUMWA, IOWA -- The Wesley United Methodist Church brought in the Lost Dogs for a concert Sunday night.

The Lost Dogs have been playing together for since 1991 and have played with bands such as George Jones, Dirks Bentley, and Weird Al.

Terry Taylor said they are just a band with a common faith and they play songs about life experiences.

“You try to write something true and something that anybody, the man on the street, can relate with. You tell a good story or you have something in your life experience they can relate to,” Taylor said.

John Gordon, who works for the church, helped bring the band to Ottumwa.

He said he wants to work with Young Adults to bring more appreciation for arts and music to the community. His band, Cowboys with Engines, opened for the Lost Dogs Sunday night.
