SHELBYVILLE, MO (AP) --

The preliminary hearing for a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper charged with three felonies has been rescheduled.

The hearing is scheduled for August 6. The hearing was originally scheduled for Friday, July 9, but was changed at the request of the state.

Dustin Berry of Leonard is charged with two counts of forgery and one count of possession or sale of equipment with altered identification numbers. The 26-year-old defendant is accused of possessing a truck that had an altered vehicle identification number and misrepresenting the sale price of the truck on two forms he presented at the license bureau in Shelbina.

Berry has been on administrative leave since the investigation started and is free on bond.
