KIRKSVILLE, MO --
It was a busy day for the American Red Cross Wednesday with the annual Media Blood Drive in Kirksville.
Red Cross officials say this blood drive is an important one for the area because summer is the slowest time of year when it comes to blood donations.
“Donating blood is easy, it's an easy process, it's shorter than people think, the whole process is less than an hour, the time on the bed actually donating is usually ten minutes or less. Each donation of blood can help save up to three lives and when people stop and think about that, it usually motivates them to donate,” said Matt Gerke, Regional Communication Manager.
Blood donors can give every 56 days.
