(OTTUMWA, Iowa) - The city of Ottumwa is not under a boil oder.
According to Tom Rodgers, the city public information officer, a rumor has been circulating that flood waters have forced the city to declare a boil order.
Rodgers tells KTVO that he spoke directly to the Ottumwa Water and Hydro plant and has been assured the water is fine to use directly from the tap.
Meanwhile, city workers have spent Wednesday morning battling a water main break on Chester Avenue.
The break knocked out water service to about 20 home in the neighborhood.
