OTTUMWA, IOWA -- Ottumwa Regional Airport is getting its hands on some federal funding.

Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa announced Tuesday that the U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Aviation Administration has awarded $52,506 to the airport.

The City of Bridges will use the federal funds to design runway safety improvements.

Grassley said safe and convenient airports provide additional economic development opportunities for communities like Ottumwa.
