KABUL (AP) -- NATO says 4 of its service members have been killed in a vehicle accident in southern Afghanistan.

The international military coalition said the accident happened Wednesday but did not provide further details, and did not identify the nationalities of the dead.

U.S. military spokesman Col. Wayne Shanks said that they were not American.

June is the deadliest month of the Afghan war for the NATO-led international military force.

An Associated Press count based on announcements by the alliance and national commands shows at least 80 international service members have died, including the latest.
