THORNBURG, IOWA -- More than two months of investigations paid off Wednesday evening as police executed a search warrant and took one man into custody.

Authorities raided the residence of 3000 Highway 22 in Thornburg, Iowa.

Keokuk County Sheriff Jeff Shipley said the Southeast Iowa Drug Task Force, the Department of Narcotics Enforcement, the Sigourney Police Department and the Keokuk County Sheriffs Department have been investigating this residence for more than two months.

Wednesday’s raid went according to plan.

“Under the search warrant we seized a significant amount of marijuana and weapons and cash. There will be numerous charges forthcoming. Right now we are wrapping up the investigation,” said Keokuk County Sheriff Jeff Shipley.

The residence sits catty-corner from the Tri-County Community School.
