The visit was connected with Rep. Blunt's bid for the U.S. Senate.
QUEEN CITY, MO -- Constituents in Northern Missouri were able to meet with Senator Christopher "Kit" Bond (R-MO) and U.S. Representative Roy Blunt (R-MO) in Queen City on Saturday.
Representative Blunt is trying to fill Senator Bond's seat in the U.S. Senate after the November election. Both leaders held a town hall meeting at the Schuyler County Middle School on Saturday afternoon. Blunt outlined the reasons why he should be in the Senate.
People in the crowds asked about Health Care, Cap and Trade, along with the EPA standards affecting Missouri farmers. Representative Blunt said it has to do with "bureaucrats."
"When you have too much authority to bureaucrats and then when you appoint people, as the President had, to run these agencies that are at the liberal extreme of the country...then liberal things are going to happen. A majority of the Congress can say we are not going to spend any money on that, but it is going to take leadership at the top," Rep. Blunt said.
After the Queen City visit, Senator Bond and Representative Blunt traveled to another campaign stop.
In total, Representative Blunt has made 508 campaign stops in the past 16 months, covering all of Missouri's 114 counties.
