MACON, MO -- Police continue to investigate the robbery of the BreakTime Convenience Store in Macon, Missouri.
An unidentified man got away with an undisclosed amount of cash from the store early Thursday morning.
The suspect is described as a black male approximately between 6’0” and 6’3”. He weighs between 230-240 pounds and was wearing blue jeans, white shoes, and a gray long sleeve shirt.
Authorities say the suspect had half of his face covered, and was wearing a hat, sunglasses, and had his right arm in a sling.
“I'm betting that it was not needed, just a hunch that it was just a disguise to try to get the officers looking in a different directions, but we don't know that for a fact,” said Chief Steve Olinger, Macon Police Department.
Olinger tells KTVO the suspect was in and out of the store very quickly, and did not use a firearm when demanding money from the clerk.
“There was surveillance video at the store, of course we've reviewed it with the management team at the store and we're trying to look for any lead in that video or any tip or clue in that video that might help us make an arrest,” Olinger said.
Police wouldn't release the surveillance video at this time. Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call the Macon Police Department at 660-385-2195.
