MACON, MISSOURI -- Press Release from Macon Police Department

The Macon Police Department would like to notify local businesses and the public that we have received a complaint of a Quick Change Scam that occurred in the City of Macon on June 13 at a local business.

A description of the suspect has been obtained and is given as a black male suspect with dark complexion and acne scarring to the facial area.  The suspect is approximately 6'0" to 6'2" tall, approximately 200 lbs.  At the time of the scam, the suspect was wearing white shoes, blue jeans, a plaid shirt and a beige ball cap.  The suspect approached a cashier to make a purchase and then began asking to "trade" bills, at which time the suspect was able to gain monitarily before leaving the business.  An undisclosed amount of cash was reportedly taken by the suspect.  This case is currently under investigation.

The Macon Police Department cautions business owners and managers to educate their employees about this type of behavior.  Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Macon Police Department or their local law enforcement.
