Hannibal man pleads not guilty in fiancee's death

HANNIBAL, MO. (AP) -- A Hannibal man has pleaded not guilty in the shooting death of a woman two days before they were to be married.
   
The Hannibal Courier-Post reports that 40-year-old C. Duane Pettey entered the plea Tuesday in Marion County Court. He's charged with first-degree murder in the the April 15 shooting of 32-year-old Sandra M. Fugate. He remains jailed on $1 million bond.
   
Fugate's body was discovered in the basement of the home she shared with Pettey in Hannibal.
