KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- The search continues for a missing foreign exchange student from Ethiopia.

Abdu Mohamad, 17, was last seen in Kirksville on Sunday, May 30.

Mohamad had been living with his Kirksville host family, James and Daisy Rearick.

He attended school at Brashear High School during the 2009/2010 school year.

Mohamad is a black male. He is 5’6” tall, weighs 120 pounds and has brown eyes and black hair.

He was last seen riding an older blue mountain bike and wearing a backpack.

Foul play is not suspected.

Kirksville police said Mohamad texted the Rearicks and told them he was safe.

Officials say the foreign exchange student graduated from Brashear High School last month and may have contacts in that area.

If you see the missing teenager, you're asked to call the Kirksville Police Department at (660)785-6945.

Police told KTVO a resident reported Thursday that they had seen someone matching Mohamad's description riding a bike in the LaPlata area.

Authorities were not able to make contact with him.
