WEST DES MOINES, IOWA (AP) -- Police say a motorcyclist was killed in a 4-vehicle crash that closed part of Interstate 35 for several hours in West Des Moines.

Lt. Jeff Miller says the accident happened about 2 p.m. on Sunday when a group of motorcyclists was going onto the southbound lanes of I-35 from a ramp. Two of the motorcyclists were involved in a collision with a semitrailer and a car.

One of the motorcyclists died at the scene. The other was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Their names were not immediately released.

The crash closed southbound I-35 for about three hours. The accident remains under investigation.
