KIRKSVILLE, MO -- The Kirksville High School Class of 2010 celebrated graduation day Sunday as 197 students received their diplomas.
The commencement ceremony was held at Pershing Arena on the Truman State University campus in front of a packed crowd of family and friends. And although graduation means the end of high school, it also means the start of something new.
“Whether you go to college or into the workforce your future is your responsibility now more than any other time before. It's an intimidating prospect. But the diploma you receive today certifies that whatever path you choose after high school you are ready for it,” said salutatorian Ravi Fernando.
Both the salutatorian and valedictorian addressed their classmates as party of the commencement ceremony. The high school concert choir and concert band also performed.
The Class of 2010 is the 116th class to graduate from Kirksville High School.
