MILAN, MO. -- The 25th annual Milan Old Timers Reunion was the biggest and most successful ever. Record crowds came out for the rodeo and Saturday's events on the square.
A community church service was held on the square Sunday as part of the day’s celebrations.
The Old Timers event has grown from one day of festivities to four days for the first time this year. Last year activities were scheduled for three days but this year organizers added a fourth day.
Events range from a baby show, to a three-on-three basketball tournament and even an arm wrestling tournament.
“Anybody who has ever lived in Milan, went to school in Milan, worked in Milan, anybody that has ever even passed through Milan is considered a Milan Old Timer. And they come in here on Memorial Day and there's lots of activities,” said Milan Old Timers Reunion President Cary Maulsby.
The final round of the rodeo began Sunday night at 7:00 followed by a live band at 10:00.
Festivities continue Monday with a golf tournament at the country club at 9:00 a.m. and a demolition derby from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the American Legion Arena.
