The Iowa primary election is less than two weeks away.
OTTUMWA, IOWA -- Chris Reed, a Republican candidate for the U.S. House, spoke at a "Salute to Heroes Tour" on Friday evening in Ottumwa's Central Park.
The event, held in conjunction with Memorial Day, featured a number of speakers including David Beamer...the father of Todd Beamer, the man who stated "Let's roll" on United Flight 93 on September 11th, 2001.
Prior to the ceremony, KTVO spoke with candidate Chris Reed regarding what separates his campaign from the other three GOP candidates. The victor in the primary election will go on to challenge Democratic incumbent Dave Loebsack in November.
"The one thing that separates me is: I'm the only candidate on this ticket, on either side of the aisle, Democrat or Republican, that's willing to discuss term limits. And I believe that we need term limits in Washington for everybody in the Senate and the House. The era of the career politician has to go by the wayside," Reed said.
He told KTVO in a recent interview that not knowing the difference between wants and needs continues to force the national debt to increase.
Throughout this primary election season, KTVO is speaking with all candidates regarding their campaign platforms.
