OTTUMWA, IA. -- On May 28, 2010 at approximately 1:10 a.m., officers responded to a report of a stabbing at 201 North Davis Street in Ottumwa, Iowa.  Upon arrival, officers found the following person suffering from multiple stab wounds:

-Aiden Allen Edward Miller, 801 South Davis Street. Ottumwa, Iowa, 23 years old

Miller was transported by ambulance to the Ottumwa Regional Health Center for treatment of his injuries, but was later transferred to the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City.

Following an initial investigation, an arrest warrant for Attempted Murder was issued for the following person:

-Jesse Leon Jones, 107 North Willard #2, Ottumwa, Iowa, 27 years old

On May 28 at approximately 12:05 p.m., Jones was found and taken into custody in the south alley of the 300 Block of East Main Street in Ottumwa.  Jones has been charged with one count of Attempt To Commit Murder in violation of Chapter 707.11 of the Code of Iowa (Class “B” Felony) and Carrying Weapons in violation of Chapter 724.4 of the Code of Iowa (Aggravated Misdemeanor).  He is currently being held in the Wapello County Jail with bond set at $50,000.00.
