OTTUMWA, IOWA -- Two Heartland boys are accused of harassing and beating up a 13-year-old girl.
The Ottumwa Police Department received a report at approximately 12:30 p.m. Wednesday that a girl had been assaulted in the 800 block of Chester Avenue in Ottumwa.
Following an investigation, police arrested two teenage boys.
Jose Torres, 13, and Marlon Rodrigues-Lopez, 14, both of Ottumwa are charged with assault with intent to commit sexual abuse, and aggravated misdemeanor, and harassment, a simple misdemeanor.
Authorities said both boys were released to their parents.
No further details were available from police.
