JEFFERSON CITY, MO. -- The dates for hearings scheduled for a proposed rate hike filed by Atmos Energy have been changed.

In December 2009, Atmos filed a rate increase proposal with the Missouri Public Service Commission.

Hearings that were originally scheduled for August 18-27 will now be held August 23-September 3.

The hearings will be held in Room 310 of the Governor Office Building, 200 Madison Street in Jefferson City.

Atmos is asking for an increase in natural gas revenues totaling about $6.4 million.

The proposed increase on the non-gas portion of a residential monthly bill in the Northeast District of Missouri, would be from the current amount of $20.61 to a proposed total of $33.23.

Atmos serves approximately 56,000 natural gas customers in Missouri.
