KIRKSVILLE, MO --
The 16th President of Truman State University is officially on the job.
Dr. Troy Paino started work this week in his new position. He spent the last two years as Truman's Provost, so he's already in the know about Truman's financial affairs as the school heads into a tough year of budget cuts.
I think it is an advantage that I've been here, that I've worked very closely with the budget, the provost has probably about 75 percent of the budget under his or her authority, so a lot of those cuts unfortunately have had to come out of the budget that I was overseeing,” said Paino.
Paino says Truman is set for the next school year, but the real budget challenges will come in 2012. He says the administration will spend the summer planning their vision for Truman in upcoming years.
