KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- A northeast Missouri man who was facing felony charges saw those charges thrown out this week.

The charges of child abuse and endangering the welfare of a child against Daniel Howe of Novinger were dropped by Knox County Associate Judge William Alberty, who was hearing the case in Adair County.

During the preliminary hearing, the judge ruled there was insufficient evidence to go to trial.

The case was being prosecuted by the Missouri Attorney General's Office.
