MOBERLY, MO. -- Over 100 workers in northeast Missouri will soon be unemployed.

The Matcor Automotive plant in Moberly, Mo., will shut down sometime in June.  The Moberly plant makes components for the auto industry and currently has 106 employees. It's been in business in Moberly, Mo., for about seventeen years.

The Moberly location will close permanently after General Motors stops production on the Chevy Cobalt in June. Company officials say the closure has nothing to do with the automotive industry as a whole, but rather the end of the Chevy Cobalt line.

Matcor provided a statement saying, “we are aggressively seeking new business for the facility."
