KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- The Kirksville Downtown Improvement Committee, Inc. met Tuesday night for the first time with an executive director.
Lynn Daniels is the committee's new leader and says she's still getting her feet wet in the downtown area.
KDIC discussed the progress of the office space that's being remodeled for Daniels use.
The KDIC says they're constantly trying to use resources such as the Downtown Revitalization and Economic Assistance for Missouri, or DREAM Initiative to fund downtown improvements.
“We are always working with DREAM on the resources that we have available. Lynn, the new Executive Director will be working with them closely on looking at the new studies that they have available,” said KDIC Board President Kylene Puckett.
Puckett says they're working on making it easier for business owners to know what funding is currently available.
The executive director position is funded for two years thanks to a DREAM Initiative grant.
