KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- Local leaders worried Kirksville might lose its air service when the city's current contract with air choice one expires later this year.
It appears that won't be the case.
City Manager Mari Macomber told KTVO Thursday that the city has received word that Kirksville's Essential Air Service will be extended for two more years.
Macomber and a couple of other representatives flew to Washington DC last week to meet with lawmakers and officials from the U.S. Department of Transportation about continuing Essential Air Service at Kirksville Regional Airport.
