KIRKSVILLE, MO --
The Kirksville High School Science Club is asking you to take part in a global movement.
Earth Hour is coming up this Saturday. The hour is designed to draw attention to global warming and energy conservation. You can participate by turning off your lights on Saturday from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
“We've contacted many businesses throughout Kirksville to ask them if they would like to participate and observe earth hour and it's been a good turnout so we're really happy about that so they'll be a lot of businesses that'll have their lights shut off this Saturday,” said Chayton True, Organizer.
Earth Hour started in Sydney, Australia in 2007 and has become a world-wide event. This is Kirksville's second year to participate. The City of Kirksville will observe Earth Hour by shutting off the lights in Rotary Park.
If your business would like to participate, the KHS Science Club wants to know. Call KHS at 660-665-4631.
