FAIRFIELD, IOWA -- State Representative Curt Hanson, D-Fairfield, announced Tuesday that he will seek re-election to the Iowa House of Representatives in 2010.
“I feel honored to serve the people of House District 90. With so many families struggling in today’s tough economy, my main priority is to help strengthen Iowa’s middle class and support small businesses. It’s essential to find new ways to improve Iowa’s economy and create good-paying jobs,” said Hanson.
Hanson is currently serving his first term in the Iowa House. He is a member of the Environmental Protection, Natural Resources, Public Safety, and Transportation Committee, as well as the Education Appropriations Subcommittee.
“I enjoy listening to the people of my district and I will continue to work hard on the issues important to them. I am committed to balancing the state budget without raising taxes while maintaining support for our schools,” added Hanson.
Hanson has been married for 40 years to his wife Diane and they have two children and two granddaughters. Hanson was a Driver Education teacher at Fairfield High School for 43 years and a public school teacher for 38 years.
Hanson is the former president of the Iowa Association of Safety Education, and is a former business manager of the Iowa Association of Safety Education. He is a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Fairfield Kiwanis, and the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce.
