JEFFERSON CITY, MO. (AP) -- Missouri lawmakers are joining many Americans in voicing their displeasure with Congress.

Roughly halfway through its session, the Missouri House has approved three resolutions criticizing Washington over health care, the national debt and unfunded demands upon local governments. Senators also have passed resolutions complaining about health care and deficit-spending.

House members already have filed more resolutions this year than in any other year during the past decade.

Republican leaders say they are representing their constituents whose deepest worries center on Congress. Democrats say the Legislature's complaints have become a political distraction that is getting in the way of addressing Missouri's economic and budgetary problems.
