KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Members of Boy Scout Troop 401 from Kirksville participated in the annual Scouting for Food Drive on Saturday.  Scouting for Food is Boy Scouts of America’s largest one-day food drive.  The donated items play an integral role in stocking the area food pantry.

Troop 401 distributed hangers throughout neighborhoods in Kirksville a week before.  On Saturday, scouts hit the streets again to pick up bags filled with the donated non-perishable items.  They retrieved an estimated 1,000 pounds of food from the generous residents of Kirksville which will help replenish food shelters in the Heartland.
