OTTUMWA, IOWA -- On February 2nd, Barry Dodd resigned as Executive Director of the Southern Prairie Chapter of the American Red Cross.

KTVO spoke with Jeff Frana, the Board Chairman of the local Red Cross.

"[Dodd] resigned for personal reasons. And those are his reasons. I'm not at liberty to discuss personal reasons," Frana said.

He also commented on whether or not there will be a new director.

"We are in the process of doing extensive research on where best to move the chapter forward," Frana said. "And we'll have an answer for the public by the end of March. That is the board's intention."

Frana added that throughout this interim process, the local American Red Cross will continue to be a vital presence in the community. The organization also has a booth at Home Expo 2010 at the Bridge View Center in Ottumwa this weekend.
