FAIRFIELD, IOWA -- The Fairfield Chamber of Commerce hosted their Legislative Breakfast Saturday morning.

Fairfields elected officials came and enjoyed a hearty meal with Chamber of Commerce members and their guests.

The Congressmen then discuss recent bills, issues, or concerns that have arisen in the past month.

A question and answer session followed allowing the breakfast-goers to express their concerns or seek out further understanding on an issue.

Both State Representative Curt Hanson (D), Fairfield, and State Senator Becky Schmitz (D), Fairfield, were in attendance Saturday.

"The big issues are budget and number two jobs.  We're trying to keep the budget in line, trying to keep taxes down, and trying to find ways to provide more employment opportunities for Iowans," said Representative Curt Hanson.

Other hot topics included the puppy mill bill, government reorganization, health insurance, texting while driving, energy, and education..
