KIRKSVILLE, MO --

Community members spent the morning celebrating a new activities center in Kirksville.

The Adair County SB40 Developmental Disability Board started the center in December. The center's new name is P.A.C.T, or People Achieving Connections Together. The center gives those with developmental disabilities a place to call their own.

“We have crafts, we have a tv with a Wii, we have movie days or movie nights, we also offer a game day. We have a spa day, something we thought would be for girls but the guys are really liking that too,” said Executive Director Nan Davis.

Davis says the program has been very successful so far. Members learn socialization skills inside and outside of the center. They also have a 42 member bowling league.
