KIRKSVILLE, MO --
Some Truman students spent the morning in court.
The Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District, held court at Truman State University for the fifth year.
The appellate court spends about eight months of the year on the road, bringing the court to college campuses and other locations.
“A lot of people really have no idea what appellate courts do. I mean they have probably a little familiarity with what trial courts do by just watching tv. But you just don't see appellate courts on tv and It’s not always easy to come to Kansas City to get to see our cases,” said Terence Lord, Clerk of Court.
Four cases were appealed in front of a panel of three judges.
The judges held a question and answer session for anyone who wanted to learn more about the court system.
