DES MOINES, IOWA (AP) -- Winter-weary Iowans are dealing with more snow followed by strong winds and colder temperatures as another storm moves across the nation's midsection.

This storm will produce a prolonged period of snow that will continue on Monday and into Tuesday.

The heaviest snow, up to 10 inches or more, is expected over northern and eastern Iowa by Tuesday morning. Strong northwest winds will pick up, causing near blizzard conditions.

The National Weather Service says light snow fell over much of Iowa overnight. Since Sunday, 5 inches of snow has fallen in Estherville near the Minnesota border.

A winter storm warning is in effect until Tuesday afternoon for east central to northeast Iowa.
