KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- A Heartland church has grown so much in the past year it’s had to add an extra service.
The Crossing Church in Kirksville opened in November of 2008 offering a 10:45 a.m. service each Sunday.
Nearly 400 people attend each Sunday so they decided to add a 9:00 a.m. service beginning this Sunday.
Reporter asks, “How does that make you feel as a pastor to have to add an extra service?”
“Oh I love it! I love the opportunity to create more empty seats, I love the opportunity to get to rock out another service,” said Campus Pastor Ryan Lingbloom.
The Crossing isn't your typical church. It's a multi-site facility and broadcasts a live sermon from the main site in Quincy each Sunday. There are also campuses in Macomb, Mossel Bay, South Africa, and a second campus opened this week in Quincy.
The Crossing promises to offer a closer relationship to Jesus for all ages.
“We have the loudest room in Kirksville on a Sunday morning, we specifically agree to that. It's called the clubhouse; it's for K-6th grade. We have a play place because we want kids to not want to leave this place when they come here,” said Lingbloom.
Lingbloom says older generations love The Crossing too.
He encourages anyone to visit The Crossing as the church begins to prepare for Easter.
