OTTUMWA, IOWA -- This time of year, road crews fight a constant battle trying to fix pot holes.
Ottumwa Public Information Officer Tom Rodgers said the goal is to keep the streets as safe as possible but if the roads are wet the pot holes can't be repaired.
He said crews work their way through the city, but rely on your calls too.
"If there are places that need special attention we certainly do use the list of addresses and locations people do call in. So if you got on that is your favorite pothole because it is in front of your house it is perfectly alright to report that to Public Works,” said Rodgers.
The experts say recent freezing and thawing conditions cause the potholes to pop up faster than they can fix them.
