DES MOINES, IOWA (AP) -- More than $4.8 million in federal money is headed to Iowa to help pay for home heating and cooling assistance. U.S. Rep. Leonard Boswell on Thursday announced the funding from the federal Department of Health and Human Services. Boswell's office says the money is part of the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, which assists families in paying for home energy costs. Boswell called the additional money "invaluable" and says it comes at a time when "many families are trying to make ends meet and keep the heat on during Iowas cold winter."
