KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- If you or someone you know is struggling to pay for their Medicare coverage, help is available.
Fact Finder learned the Medicare Savings Program, the Limited Income Subsidy Program, and the MORx Program are designed to help pay for medications and premiums.
The first two programs are federally funded while the third is a free state plan that covers up to a 31 day supply for each prescription filled at a Missouri pharmacy that is covered in a Medicare Part D Plan formulary.
“The state has a wonderful program, the Missouri Rx plan and that works in conjunction with the Medicare Part D Plan,” said Northeast Missouri Area Agency on Aging Executive Director Pam Windtberg.
Fact Finder discovered the eligibility for each program differs slightly.
Some programs look at your income and assets while others look at just income.
If you would like more information on any of these programs, you can call the Northeast Missouri Area Agency on Aging at 1-800-664-6338.
