With the extension of the First Time Home Buyers Tax Credit and low asking prices, more and more people are buying houses. But once you own your own home, do you have all the necessary steps in place to take care of it if something happens to you?

Our Fact Finder Team spoke with a local attorney about what homeowners should know in case of an untimely death. One recommendation is getting a beneficiary deed set in place.

“Missouri homeowners should consider the beneficiary deed as to provide the automatic transfer of property upon the death of the owner. This allows the property to be transferred without the need for a court proceeding,” said Brett Bozarth, Attorney at Law.
