KIRKSVILLE, MO -- The Kirksville school board met Tuesday night to wrap up the fall semester.
The board heard from some notable athletic figures from the fall and winter.
Perhaps the most notable item of the night's meeting was the revision to the school's current budget, which examined the use of a $750 thousand emergency fund.
“If you look at the state revenue, that is $225 less than our adopted budget in October, and that's reflecting the state's indication that there will be a shortfall in revenue and that our state aid payment will either have to be met by borrowing from next year's funds, state stabilization funds, which is stimulus money from the state, or we will be prorated about three percent," said board member Jane Schaper.
The board also voted to approve senior Rachel Goodwin as the school's representative for the statewide John T. Belcher scholarship.
