With an unemployment rate already above 8%, Wapello County takes another hit. KTVO has confirmed that the Food Bonanza grocery store in Ottumwa will be closing effective the end of the year. Brian Numainville, Director of Public Relations for the Nash Finch Company confirmed to us late Monday afternoon that the company’s Food Bonanza location in Ottumwa and the Econofoods location in Dubuque will close as of December 31.

Numainville said in an email, the locations do not fit the company’s future plans. He added there will be approximately 50 full and part time employees who will lose their jobs at the Ottumwa location.
