CANTRIL, IOWA --

If you're in the mood for a spooky Halloween treat this weekend, you can check out the Haunted Wabonsie Trail in Cantril. .

The haunted trail is put on by the community as a fundraiser for park improvements and holiday events. This is the 11th and very last year to experience the thrills of the haunted trail.

“This is going to be our last year because it's actually overgrown our small community. It takes approximately 100 individuals working weeks and weeks on a three day event, but that three day event, I guarantee will thrill you, will put a smile on your face,” said Mike Kauk, a haunted trail actor.

With a few thousand thrill seekers attending the event each year at $5 apiece, the town can bring in as much as $15,000. The trail is open October 23-24 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
