KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- Residents of northeast Missouri focused on women's health this weekend.

The third annual Healthy Woman Expo and Dinner took place on the Truman State University campus Saturday evening. The expo features a variety of health information, demonstrations, and pampering for local women.

The Healthy Woman Program is a resource provided by Northeast Regional Medical Center. Over 1,200 local women are members of the program.

“The idea is to educate women about taking care of their families and themselves, because women do make the majority of the healthcare decisions for everyone, not just themselves,” said Healthy Woman Coordinator Laura Gruber.

After the expo, women had the opportunity to enjoy meal and hear a presentation from national motivational speaker Linda Larsen.

Membership in the Healthy Woman Program is free.  If you're interested in becoming a member, click here.
