MACON, MO -- Fact Finder straightens out confusion caused at the Macon County Drive-Through Flu Clinic Wednesday.

A viewer told KTVO they were denied the vaccine when they tried to pay through Medicaid. Our Fact Finder Team contacted the Macon County Health Department to set the situation straight.

“Apparently what happened is we had several people that had Medicaid and they were denied the vaccine, told Medicaid would not pay it. What happens is if they're 18 and under we can use some other state vaccine, and that was misunderstood. Some of the HMO’s with Medicaid may deny the vaccine payment but we can then go ahead and bill the client,” said Administrator Judy Rushton.

Rushton says that if you were denied the seasonal flu vaccine Wednesday, October 14, you should contact the Macon County Health Department at 660-385-4711 and they will arrange for you to get the vaccination.
